Awaken your inner Frank N Furter for a night of cult comedy, dinner, songs and dancing at The Blue Baths. SWEET TRANSVESTITES (and others) OF ROTORUA: Be sure to don your finest lingerie or glam rock gear and get down to The Blue Baths on Friday 16th March for an evening’s worth of eating and entertainment. Our cast of camp, crazy, weird, funny, sexy stars will be taking you to Transylvania and back, performing the finest of Rocky, closely followed by some prime Glam Rock, then classic dance hits till its over. So put on your platforms, plaster on the glitter and get ready to rock your tights off.

Four Tenors and a Diva

 

The stars of our summer show 1931, return to Rotorua to bring you this very special evening.

Filled with sensational music, fine food, laughter and more than a few surprises, this promises to be a spectacular night at the beautiful Blue Baths.
You will be wowed as the evening unfolds. This stunning musical revue oozes style and glamour, and features a range of songs from different eras and genres. From soaring arias to slow-jams, rich vocal harmonies and theatrical antics of the RatPack to the jazz standards and classics from your favourite Broadway musicals, this will be a night to remember!

1931:The Show

 

Start spreading the news! This is one fantastic show - don't miss it this summer at The Blue Baths!!

 Theatre, comedy, dance, great music and lots of laughter define this fabulous show.Written and directed by the award winning Dena Kennedy, 1931 lets you swing to the lives, loves and music of the 30s with the story of how a local lad meets an American diva singing at the baths, and she turns his world upside down. Set in the lido lounge of Rotorua's beautiful Blue Baths, the show is complete with a 5 piece jazz band, fabulous dancers and some stunning voices. You won't want to miss experiencing this unique show this summer - and bring your Grandad, he'll love it too!

Summertime Wine Bar is open, so come along early for pre-show drinks with tapas and platters whilst enjoying the glorious views over Government Gardens.

And for the full experience ! Groups can begin the evening with dinner in the upstairs Tearoom - by prior arrangement.

The Blue Baths EMERGE Programme

 

Our Emerge programme was launched to provide a platform to support and showcase the amazing talents of young New Zealander's intent on forging a performing arts career. This summer 20 young musicians, dancers, singers and actors from all over the country are enrolled in the inaugural EMERGE programme to gain practical knowledge and mentoring by experienced artists who are directing and playing lead roles in this years show: 1931.
